We're Measuring Up!

This first grade year is a very special one for your child.  He or she will began to grow into a confident reader, writer and mathematician. Each child will progress at a different rate, though.  It is very important to remember that success is measured not by where he or she finishes, but by how far the child has come.

Each nine weeks your child will receive a report card.  This report card is used to measure your child's progress in reading, creative writing, handwriting, math, social development and work habits.  In addition to the quarterly report cards your child will receive this year, he/she will also take home a weekly progress report on Fridays.  This progress report is a fantastic tool to use so that we can communicate on a regular basis. Some of the areas that are covered on this report include classroom, hall and bathroom behaviors as well as work habits and social skills.  I hope that you will find this progress report to be a helpful tool to help us work together to best teach your child.
