Elizabeth Boulter's Web Page
I am the music teacher for all the elementary schools
in Yancey County. The information on this web page pertains
to the music classes at Burnsville, Micaville, Bee Log,
Clearmont, South Toe, and Bald Creek Elementary Schools.
Class rules and activities will be the same in all the schools, and
I will prepare the students in each school to present a
music program at some time during the school year.
Music classes are taught weekly for one semester per year,
and the schedule alternates with the elementary art class
schedule. Throughout the course of the semester,
students will do a variety of musical activities designed
to educate them in the fundamentals of music, as described
in the NC Standard Course of Study. Class activities
will include singing, playing of percussion instruments,
listening, and movement. We will work on reading
musical notation, both rhythm and pitch,
and we will listen to and discuss music samples
from a variety of styles and cultures.

1. Be polite and respectful
2. Follow directions
3. Raise your hand and wait to be called on
4. No gum or food in music class
