My hero is my grandpa Clayton. He died before I was born. He was in World War II. I know a story about him. He was a medic in the army. He took hurt soldiers to the hospital. While he was out working, the German soldiers came and took him. In his pocket he had a little Bible that my gran had sent him. The soldiers took it from him. When they turned around, he grabbed the Bible back. They didn’t see him, so when they put him in prison, he had his Bible to read. They didn’t give him much to eat, only turnip juice to drink. When the war was over, he came home very thin. He was my hero because he was brave and had faith in God. By L.B. |
