Oval: The Feature Story
Our
Veterans Remembered

Yancey County fifth grade students collected information about our veterans.  The focus was to locate information and pictures about World War II veterans from Yancey County.  Not only did students locate World War II vets, but they also interviewed veterans from the Vietnam War as well as peace time veterans.

The students would like to thank all these men or their families for being willing to share their stories.

Special thanks to the Bright Ideas Grant and the Yancey County Schools Foundation Grant for providing digital tools to capture these stories.

This page is dedicated to all the men and women who have served in our armed forces.

This web page will continue to be under construction as long as students contribute additional vet stories.  Check back to see when new links are added.
