Clearmont Elementary

School History

Clearmont Elementary School has been the heart of the community since 1918.  The present building first opened as a 1st—12th grade school in 1937.  Prior to that opening the school was located on a hill within view of the present school.

Today Clearmont serves the community as a K-5 school.

The school was almost lost in the flood of 1977, sustaining substantial damage.  Teachers and the community rallied together to do the necessary work to allow the school to reopen.

In March of 2003, the school was awarded the IMPACT grant.  This grant transformed the WPA building into a high technology center for the school and community.
