Driving directions from I 40 West
On I 40 West, take Exit 86 (Marion/Shelby). Turn right onto 226 North.
Travel 1 mile to the intersection of 221 North, continue straight through the intersection onto 221/226 N.
Travel 12 miles and turn left onto 226 North.
Proceed on 226 North approximately 4 miles. This section of the road is steep and mountainous.
At the top of mountain, turn right and proceed on 226 North for approximately 4.8 miles. At the next intersection, turn left onto 19E South. Travel approximately 14 miles to a traffic light. Proceed on 19-E Bypass to the next traffic light.
Turn right on South Main Street. Turn right on the one way street at the Nu-Wray Inn. Continue around the one way street and turn right on North Main Street. Travel .03 miles, turn right on Green Mountain Drive. Continue to a four way intersection, turn right. The Yancey County Schools Central Office is the rock building on the right.
Driving directions from I 40 East
On I 40 East, take Exit 46-B (240 East/Asheville). Continue in left lane on 240/ 19-23 North. Continue to leftmost lane and take exit 4A
(UNC-A).
Travel on 19-23 N to Mars Hill. Take Exit 9 (Burnsville).
At traffic light, turn right onto Hwy 19 N. Travel on Hwy 19N(19-E) to Burnsville approximately 16.5 miles.
At the first traffic light, turn left on South Main Street. Turn right on one way street at the Nu-Wray Inn. Continue around the one way street
and turn right on North Main Street.
Travel.03 miles, turn right on Green Mountain Drive.
Continue to a four way intersection, turn right. The Yancey County Schools Central Office is the rock building on the right.
