General Information

The Differentiated Curriculum Program of Yancey County Schools is a comprehensive K-12 plan which adheres to the county's vision statement:

Yancey County Schools is committed to nurturing in each student a desire for learning, respect and an improved self-concept.  Providing a future-oriented education for every child is a priority: respecting the strengths of this area's past is a given.

The Differentiated Curriculum Program is committed providing an equitable and pragmatic array of services appropriate for meeting the needs of the academically/intellectually gifted population of Yancey County.

While committed to meeting the educational needs of all students, the Yancey County Diffferentiated Curriculum Program strives to ensure that students from all cultural groups, all economic strata, and all areas of human endeavor be considered  for representation in the academically/intellectually gifted program.
