           Yancey County Schools Exceptional Children's Program 

Yancey County Schools provides special education and related services
to all children with disabilities from age 3 to 21.  When children are determined eligible for services, an Individual Education Plan (IEP) is developed that states the services to be provided.  (Related services necessary to access the curriculum,  such Speech-Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and or Physical Therapy, and Transportation are provided for students that qualify for these services.)

North Carolina Public Schools Exceptional Children's Division provides us with procedures for  the delivery of special educations services.  These procedures are detailed in Policies Governing Programs and Services for Children with Special Needs.
