Freshmen Enrollment Evening

Freshmen Enrollment Evening will be held on March 6, 2008 at Mtn. Heritage in the Auditorium. 

Light refreshments will be provided and served by the MHHS Student Council in the area outside the Auditorium.

Departments and clubs will have various table displays set up around the commons area outside the Auditorium.  Please visit these to learn more about opportunities for student involvement.


Benefit Barbeque and Concert for Brittany Honeycutt

The MHHS FFA will host a benefit concert & barbeque sale to honor Brittany Honeycutt on Friday, March 7, 2008.

BBQ Plates will be sold from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm from the High School's Agricultural Shop and from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm in the High School Gym. Plates of BBQ are $7 and include: 1 Large BBQ Sandwich, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Cookie and a 12 oz. Drink. Orders that will be delivered must be made before 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 6. Please use one order form for each office/school if possible. (Please see the attached order form and details below.).

The Concert will feature the band "Road Trip" and will be held in the Mountain Heritage High School Gym from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Donations will be taken at the door for the Concert.  All proceeds from the Concert & BBQ Sale will go to the Honeycutt Family.

Ordering / Payment For BBQ Lunch

High School Employees - come by the shop at lunch to pay and pick up your plate.

All Other School Employees - Please fill out the attached order form for each school/office. Upon filling out the order form there are 3 methods to place your order.

Payment is preferred before delivery, but can be made with delivery. Please mail payment to the address above. Orders MUST arrive at the high school and be paid for (preferred) by 3:00 pm, Thursday, February 21st. Orders that do not meet the due date will not be delivered. Please make checks payable to Mountain Heritage High School. If you have any questions you can call Chad Ayers at 682-6103. Thank you for your support of this cause. Please place order according to the type of drink. Please list your location and the approximate time you wish for your food to arrive.


We will only be able to deliver to Schools and School System offices. All other plates should be picked up and paid for at the High Schools Agricultural Shop during lunch.

Thursday, March 20, 2008 - Registration training for homeroom teachers in the Media Center during planning periods.

Monday, March 24, 2008 - Curriculum directories and registration materials will be given out during homeroom during 2nd period.

Tuesday, March 25 through Friday, March 28, 2008 - Registration in the Media Center.  Scheduling will be done by homerooms.  Teachers will assist during their planning periods.

Tuesday, March 25 through Friday, March 28, 2008 - Graduation Project Kick-Off. Current 10th grade students will be called by homerooms to the Auditorium where they will view a view about the Graduation Project and will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Friday, May 2, 2008 - Eighth Grade Tour of Mtn. Heritage Campus

Saturday, May 3, 2008 - MHHS Prom at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville.

NSP / PTSL Announcement


We are pleased to announce that the applications for the Nurse Scholars Program (NSP) and the Prospective Teacher Scholarship Loan (PTSL) are now available online at www.CFNC.org/NSP and www.CFNC.org/PTSL, respectively.

We had hoped to post these applications earlier, and we regret the delay.  As a consequence of the delay, we have extended the application deadline for NSP for bachelor degree nursing candidates; the new deadline is March 7, 2008.  The deadline for associate degree nursing candidates remains May 3, 2008.  

The PTSL deadline remains April 6, 2008.

Naval Reserve Office Training Corps Scholarship (NROTC) - Marine Option

This is a 4-year scholarship valued at more than $125,000.  The scholarship is accepted at more than 68 competitive and prestigious colleges and universities throughout the United States.  Minimum application requirements include:
  • 1000 SAT Verbal and Match score AND/OR 22 Composite on ACT
  • Good physical health.
  • Eyesight correctable to 20/20.

Club Meetings:

FBLA will be meeting every Wednesday at 7:45 am. 
The Huddle club will meet every Wednesday.
Interact Club will meet Wednesday mornings at 7:45 am in Mr. Bobbe's room.
The Tae Kwon Do club meets every Monday from 3:30 - 4:30.  No one sits on the bench!  Everyone is invited!
