Title I and Title II Annual Meetings to be Held 5/22



On Wednesday, May 22, the Yancey County Schools annual Title I and Title II meetings will be held at the Yancey County Schools Board of Education Office, 100 School Drive in the Board Room, at 7:30 and again at 4:30. The purpose of the Title I meeting is to discuss Title I program development for the 2013 – 14 school year including review of parent involvement initiatives. The primary goal of Title I is to provide help for students needing assistance to become more successful in school. Title I programs may include in-class or pullout instruction as well as before/during/after-school or extended-year programs designed to raise reading and/or math achievement levels of Title I students. Currently, all elementary and middle schools receive Title I funding. Contact your elementary or middle school principal for information about your student’s Title I Program or Yancey County Schools Title I Director, 682-6101 Ext. 316. The purpose of the Title II meeting is to receive public input for the Title II plan for the 2013 – 14 school year. For further information call the Title II Coordinator, 682-6101 Ext. 304.
