French Broad Electric Company (FBEMC) has recently helped out East Yancey Middle School in two big ways. First, FBEMC graciously trimmed the trees in the front entrance circle driveway. The American flag at the school can now fly high and is clearly visible, unencumbered by any obstruction. It serves as a proud symbol of unity for the students, staff, and the broader community. Principal William Byland praised the team’s efforts in a Thank You letter stating, “your professionalism, efficiency and care for our school grounds made an immediate and meaningful impact.”
In another effort, FBEMC assisted the EYMS Athletics teams by installing two phone poles and a net around the baseball/softball field's backstop. The installation will enhance safety for both spectators and players by creating a barrier against foul balls, which will also deter people from pursuing the balls into the street.
“We are grateful for their partnership and continued support of our school,” shared Mr. Byland. “Acts of service like this demonstrate a true commitment to the communities they serve, and we deeply appreciate their willingness to help.”
