Due to the Cold Weather Advisory and dangerous wind chills, Yancey County Schools will be on a 2 hour delay on Monday, December 15, 2025. Buses will not run on icy roads.
The delay will give us time to make sure all of our buses and mechanical systems are working properly on our school campuses.

Due to several wet roadways, freezing temperatures, black ice, and a chance of snow showers in the county after midnight, Yancey County Schools will be on a 2 hour delay on Friday, December 12, 2025.
We will reassess weather conditions tomorrow morning and announce any changes to the school schedule by 6:30 am.

Due to the Winter Weather advisory of additional snow fall, freezing temperatures and icy roadways in the morning, Yancey County Schools will have a Remote Learning Day on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
Students - please check your school email, Google Classroom accounts or ClassDoJo for any additional information your teacher may provide. Middle and high school assignments may also be sent out electronically. Students please log on with your teachers at 11:00 a.m.

🚨 Due to a water main break, Mountain Heritage High School will dismiss at 10:00 a.m. Buses will take students home as normal. Athletic practices will be held after school at regular times. All other schools will remain on a regular schedule.
