Good evening, this is Mr. Byland with some updates for the week from East Yancey.
We will have our Reading and Cupcakes night on Tuesday at 5pm. Come on out and enjoy a cupcake.
From our sports section:
We are having a Panther Student Section for volleyball on Wednesday. Students will be able to pay $5, stay after school then go to the game that evening. Cost includes a slice of pizza, drink, and admission to the game. Volleyball is at Cane River on Monday and at home on Wednesday. Soccer is Avery Tuesday. JV Football is at Cherokee.

Attention East Yancey 6th and 7th grade parents! We are going on a field trip to the North Carolina zoo in Asheboro, NC, on Wednesday, October 9th. This will be a great opportunity to see animals up close and connect what we’re learning in science to the real world. We’ll leave school at 8 a.m. and return around 7:00–7:30 p.m. Permission slips and money are due this Friday, September 26th. We will not be accepting permission slips money after Friday. On the day of the trip students will need to bring a lunch from home or request one from school. Cost is $8 for transportation and a bus snack for the ride home.
