Ride the bus!
Happy IT Professionals Day to these fabulous people! Sonya, Eddie and Cleve are behind-the-scenes superheroes who keep YCS going every day.
We remember and honor the bravery, courage and humanity shown on this day 24 years ago. Join us in remembrance of those lives lost and those left behind.
Yancey County Schools had a great start to the 2025-26 school year! The first day of school was met with eager smiles and bright eyes as students saw renovated spaces in many buildings and a new addition at Burnsville Elementary. Many school parking lots got a face lift this summer as well. Thank you to Harper General Contractors, NCDOT and all YCS 12-month employees for their diligent work in seeing these upgrades take place for our students, families and staff. We look forward to a fantastic school year!
Parents - you will receive the activation code for the new NCSIS Parent Portal from your child's school during Open House
